Question 1

How does the custom pool design process work?

Accepted Answer

We begin by learning about your property, your ideas and how you want to use the backyard. From there, we develop a custom pool design that considers the home, available space, layout, features and overall outdoor living plan before moving into engineering and permitting.

Question 2

Can you design a pool for a smaller or challenging backyard?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A challenging property does not necessarily mean you cannot have a great pool. We evaluate setbacks, access, existing structures, drainage and usable space to develop a design that works with the property rather than forcing a standard layout into the backyard.

Question 3

Do you handle engineering and permitting?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Van Nest Pools coordinates the design, engineering and permitting process as part of the project, helping move the pool from the initial concept into construction with the required plans and approvals.

Question 4

How long does it take to build a custom pool?

Accepted Answer

Most Van Nest Pools projects take approximately 2 to 3 months once construction begins. The exact timeline can vary depending on project complexity, permitting, weather, inspections, material availability and any additional outdoor living work included in the project.

Question 5

What should I expect during pool construction?

Accepted Answer

Construction typically progresses through excavation, steel, plumbing, shotcrete, tile and coping, decking, equipment installation, interior finish, startup and final walkthrough. We coordinate the major phases and keep the project moving toward completion.

Question 6

What type of swimming pools does Van Nest Pools build?

Accepted Answer

We specialize in custom in-ground shotcrete swimming pools and spas. Designs can range from clean geometric pools to more detailed backyard environments with spas, sun shelves, water features, upgraded decking and outdoor living elements.
